Q1.(a) Do you think that foreign capital perform s gap filling functions in the host country ? Discuss and describe the functions of foreign capital. 8

(b) Explain various sources of foreign capital.

Q2.Distinguish between balance of trade and balance of payments. Prepare a hypothetical [ 2 ] MCO–015 balance of payments highlighting the various accounts as well as main items. Also interpret them.

Q3.(a) Describe the major problems and challenges of India’s foreign trade. 10

(b) Explain the thrust areas of India’s exports. Do you think that these areas wi ll increase India’s exports ?

Q4.Describe various issues involved in world trade. Do you think that these issues influence the world trade ? Discuss and suggest the policies for resolving the issues in world trade.

Q5.Describe the overview of India’s textile industry. Do you think that they contribute to the growth of Indian economy ? Support your answer with examples.

Q6.Enumerate the economic characteristics of U.S.A. Describe the recent trends of India’s exports and imports to U .S.A. highlighting the major products exported and imported. 4+16 [ 3 ]

Q7.Do you think that ASEAN has been working towards accelerating economic growth of the member countri es ? Give arguments and describe recent trends of India’s exports, imports and trade balances with ASEAN.
