Who is permitted to appear in the December 2026 exam
While filling the online examination form, IGNOU checks three conditions for every course you apply for:
- Your registration for the course is valid and not time-barred.
- The required number of assignments for that course has been submitted by the due date, wherever your programme provides for it.
- You have completed the minimum duration prescribed for pursuing the course.
Instructions issued with the date sheet
- The date sheet is tentative — IGNOU may revise dates before the exam begins.
- Report any discrepancy to datesheet@ignou.ac.in by 20 September 2026, with your enrollment number, programme and the course codes whose date and session clash. Requests after this date are not entertained.
- (MPH-002 with MPH-003) and (MPH-013 with MPH-014) are held together in a single 3-hour duration with separate question papers and answer scripts — 1 hour 30 minutes for each course.
- Course codes BNS-041 and BNS-042 are conducted in a descriptive-type pattern.
- Learners of CRD, PGDRD and MARD appearing from TEE June 2024 onwards may write their scripts in Bengali as well.
- Carry your hall ticket and a valid photo identity card to the exam centre and reach well before the reporting time printed on it.
When a date clash will NOT be changed
IGNOU does not consider a change of exam date or session in these cases:
- The courses belong to the same group (Group-1 to Group-6) — courses of one group are always held on the same date and time.
- The courses are backlog courses from different years.
- The courses belong to different programmes.
- In MP programmes, the courses belong to different specialisations.
- For CBCS and FYUP bachelor programmes, all courses of one discipline group share the same date and time.

CBCS & FYUP discipline groups
Disciplines are distributed into five groups and a student may choose three disciplines — only one from each group. For CBCS/FYUP arts programmes the groups are: Group-1 English, Hindi, Urdu, Sanskrit; Group-2 Sociology, Education; Group-3 Political Science, Public Administration, Mathematics, Philosophy; Group-4 Economics, Anthropology; Group-5 History, Psychology. For science programmes: Group-1 Physics; Group-2 Chemistry; Group-3 Mathematics, Botany; Group-4 Zoology, Geography; Group-5 Geology.
How to check your IGNOU date sheet in 30 seconds
- Choose “Search by course code” and type any part of your code — mso, MCO-01, bcs — or switch to “Fetch by enrollment number”.
- For the enrollment option, enter your 9–10 digit enrollment number and select your programme; your registered courses are pulled from the official IGNOU portal.
- Read the date and session for each paper and check for any same-date, same-session clash highlighted in red.

Frequently asked questions
When will the IGNOU December 2026 term-end exams start?
As per the tentative date sheet released on 14 September 2026, the December 2026 Term-End Examination begins on 25 November 2026 and continues into January 2027. Morning papers run from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM and evening papers from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
How do I check the IGNOU date sheet for my subjects only?
Enter your course codes (for example MCO-01, MSO 03) or just the starting letters of a code such as MSO in the search box above, or enter your enrollment number and programme to fetch your registered courses from the official IGNOU portal. Only your papers with their dates and time slots are shown.

What is the last date to report a mistake in the IGNOU date sheet?

Two of my papers are on the same date and time. Will IGNOU change it?
No change is made when the courses belong to the same group (Group-1 to Group-6), when they are backlog courses from different years, when they belong to different programmes, or when they are different specialisations of an MP programme. For CBCS and FYUP programmes, all courses in one discipline group are always held on the same date and time.
When did the December 2026 exam form portal open?
The online examination form portal for the December 2026 TEE opened on 10 September 2026. Your registration must be valid and not time-barred, the required assignments must be submitted, and the minimum programme duration must be completed.
Is this date sheet final?
No. IGNOU has published it as a tentative date sheet and it can change. Always confirm from ignou.ac.in or your Regional Centre before booking travel or applying for leave.
