CRAFTS IN INDIA

Time : 2 Hours Maximum Marks : 50

Note :

(i) There are two Sections in the question

paper—Section I and Section II.

(ii) Attempt five questions in all.

(iii) Attempt at least two questions from each

Section.

(iv) All questions carry equal marks.

(v) The world limit for 10 marks questions

is 800 words and for 5 marks it is

150 words.

Q1.Explain the historical development of crafts in India.

Q2.Discuss the relationship between Swadeshi, Self-consciousness and Swaraj.

Q3.What is the nature of inherited knowledge and how can it be passed down ? Examine.

Q4.Write short notes on any two of the following :

(a) Debate on guilds and trade

(b) Condition of crafts at the time of independence

(c) Cultural assimilation

(d) Kantha art

Section—II

Q5.Which fields, other than crafts, employs knowledge based division of tasks ? Explain.

Q6.Discuss the achievements of any one of the prominent craftsmen.

Q7.Discuss the causes responsible for the decline of Indian craft during the colonial period.

Q8.Write short notes on any two of the following :

(a) Sahaj Craft Model (Rajasthan)

(b) West Bengal Patachitra Art form

(c) Gram Gyanpeeth
