Time : 3 Hours Maximum Marks : 100

Note:

(i) There are three Sections-A, B

and C.

(ii) Attempt two questions each from

Section A and Section B.

(iii) Section C is compulsory. Word limit

for 20 marks question is 400 words

and for 10 marks question it is 200

words.

Section—A

Q1.Discuss various inter-disciplinary methods used for visual research.

Q2.Provide a discussion on how visual data was used from the period 1890 to 1950.

Q3.Examine the differences between documentary, feature and _ ethnographic films.

Q4.Write short notes on any two of the following : 10+10

(a) Tradition of using images in anthropological research

(b) Visual representation in ethnography

(c) Art and museum

Section—B

Q5.Discuss the application of visual anthropology in mass media.

Q6.Discuss the important elements of ethnographic filmmaking.

Q7.Examine how arts and aesthetics developed as a methodological tool in anthropology.

Q8.Write short notes on any two of the following : 10+10

(a) Ethnographic photography

(b) Theoretical analysis of images

(c) Ethical concerns in _ ethnographic filmmaking

Section—C

Q9.(a) Discuss the ethnographic film : Witchcraft among the Azande. 10

(b) Discuss Pouwels’ framework on visual research.
