This is the confusion that actually trips up most applicants, because both programmes are run by STRIDE, both use the same MDE-xxx course codes, and MADE's own eligibility page literally mentions PGDDE. They are not the same qualification -- one sits inside the other.

5. ODL vs fully-online (MADEOL) -- pick your format
Something MADE offers that not every IGNOU master's does: you can take the exact same degree in two different delivery formats. The eligibility, syllabus, credits and fee structure stay the same -- only how you receive content and where you apply changes.

8. How to apply -- step by step
- Decide which mode you want -- regular ODL MADE or fully-online MADEOL (Section 5) -- since they use different portals.
- Generate or link your APAAR ID before you start; recent IGNOU admission cycles require it to begin the application.
- Visit ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in (ODL) or ignouiop.samarth.edu.in (online) and click "New Registration."
- Register with a working email ID and mobile number -- both get verified through OTP.
- Create your username and password, then log in.
- Select the programme (MADE or MADEOL) and, for fresh admission, fill in your personal and academic details; PGDDE holders taking lateral entry should select that option specifically.

9. Lateral entry from PGDDE & the MDE-521 bridge course
MADE was revised from a 60-credit to a 64-credit structure starting the July 2020 session. That revision is the whole reason the MDE-521 bridge course exists, and it only affects one specific group of learners.
In plain terms: if your PGDDE result card lists the five current courses (MDE-411, 412, 413, 414, 518) worth 32 credits, that already matches MADE's current Year-1 credit load, so you can generally go straight into Year 2 through lateral entry. But if you completed the diploma or MADE Year 1 before the July-2020 revision, your old credit count won't line up with the revised 64-credit total -- so IGNOU requires you to additionally clear MDE-521 (2 credits) to bring your credits up to par before you're allowed into the revised Year 2.
10. Study centre & study material
Once your admission is confirmed, IGNOU allots you to a Study Centre offering the MADE programme, and posts your printed study material (in ODL mode) or grants digital access (in MADEOL mode) to your registered address or account. Counselling sessions at the Study Centre are typically optional support sessions, not compulsory lectures -- but attending them, especially for courses like MDE-518 (Educational Communication Technologies) that involve practical/portfolio components, genuinely helps.
11. Assignments, term-end exam & the project work
Every MADE course has a compulsory assignment component before you're allowed to sit that course's term-end exam. You need at least a 'D' grade in each assignment and a 'C' grade in the term-end exam, and your combined final grade in each course must also be at least a 'C'. Assignments can be submitted at your Study Centre or posted directly to STRIDE at IGNOU, Maidan Garhi, New Delhi.
In Year 2, alongside your five theory courses, you complete MDEP-520 (Project Work, 8 credits) -- a research-oriented project meant to sensitize you to real practices and problems within distance-education systems, building on the research methodology you cover in MDE-415.

Yes. IGNOU is a Central University set up by an Act of Parliament, and MADE is run by its Staff Training and Research Institute of Distance Education (STRIDE) with UGC and Distance Education Bureau (DEB) recognition, exactly like every other IGNOU ODL master's programme. For government recruitment and further academic admission, an IGNOU MADE degree is treated the same way as an M.A. from any other UGC-recognised university.
As per IGNOU's live official MADE programme page, the fee is Rs. 7,500/- per year for national students, which works out to Rs. 15,000/- for the full 2-year programme. ये इस पर depend करता है कि उन्होंने PGDDE या MADE Year 1 कब पूरा किया था। MADE को July 2020 से 60 से बढ़ाकर 64 credits में revise किया गया। जिसने भी July 2020 से पहले old 30-credit structure में PGDDE या MADE Year 1 पूरा किया था और अब lateral entry से Year 2 में re-register कर रहा है, उसे revised 64-credit MADE के साथ credit equivalency के लिए अलग से 2-credit bridge course MDE-521 पूरा करना ज़रूरी है। जिन learners ने current 32-credit PGDDE पूरा किया है उन्हें ये bridge course नहीं चाहिए।
नहीं। MADE का admission direct है, Bachelor's-डिग्री (या PGDDE lateral-entry) की eligibility पूरी करने पर based, seat और study-centre availability के हिसाब से।
सिर्फ English, जैसा कि IGNOU के live MADE programme page पर confirm है। Study material, assignments, और term-end exams सब English में हैं।
हां। IGNOU इसी programme को अपने Online Programmes portal के through MADEOL के रूप में भी offer करता है, जहां post से printed material की बजाय digital study content मिलता है। Eligibility, syllabus, और credit structure regular ODL MADE जैसे ही हैं; बस delivery mode और application portal अलग है -- MADEOL applications ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in की बजाय ignouiop.samarth.edu.in से जाती हैं।
September 2026 के पहले हफ्ते तक, IGNOU ने July 2026 session के लिए fresh admission, ODL और Online mode programmes दोनों में, 15 September 2026 तक बढ़ा दी है। ये date इस cycle में पहले ही एक से ज़्यादा बार बदल चुकी है -- original 15 July से, 31 July, फिर 16 August, और अब 15 September -- तो ये final होने की guarantee नहीं है। Plan बनाने से पहले हमेशा Samarth admission portal पर live "Important Dates" notice confirm कर लीजिए।
